This one is going to be a 1.8m X 6m relief intended for the King Solomon hotel in Jerusalem. I am taking imprints with my assistants from the hotel to the Foundation rock and the Kotel

Peter J Maltz: I am an Artist and Tutor. I see myself as a person on a journey. Many times, the work is related to my personal life, the culture and society around me and everyday life. The work encompasses the fields of sculpture and drawing and combines different kinds of abstract and narrative expressive modes. One of my work`s main characteristics is the combination of metaphysical and material themes. Many of my sculptures are in fact reliefs made in the traditions of assemblage and casts . The reliefs create kind of "death masks" or "sculptural photographs" of an event which occurred in a specific location or document a period in my life. My drawings almost always are created as a series, which I perceive as small journeys. The drawings are another way of telling stories about the human search for meaning. In these pieces I combine a personal diary attitude with references to illuminations and other illustrations. My drawings and sculpture are created out of a romantic wish to find great meaning in the time we live in. By documenting and using deliberate dramatic effects I strive to achieve this goal and invite others to experience my conclusions. pjmaltz@gmail.com
